Currently, clean water must be transported from other locations, which incurs high costs and is unsustainable in the long term due to the reliance on freshwater sources located tens of kilometers away.
To address the severe water shortage in the local area, following multiple surveys and in collaboration with Can Giuoc Clean Water Co., Ltd., and with the approval and support of local authorities, the Climate Fund Management (CFM) and Can Giuoc Clean Water Co., Ltd. have signed a memorandum of understanding to pilot a brackish water treatment plant with a capacity of 500m³/day in Phuoc Vinh Tay Commune, Can Giuoc District. CFM has committed to investing USD 900,000 in the aforementioned project. Upon successful completion of the pilot, CFM will invest up to USD 25 million to scale up the brackish water treatment plant to a capacity of 20,000m³/day, serving the entire Can Giuoc District. This will ensure a reliable supply of clean water for residents, particularly addressing the local water shortage issue.
