Can Giuoc District in Long An Province, particularly the lower Can Giuoc region, is heavily impacted by climate change. This area completely lacks freshwater resources for both daily living and production.

On the afternoon of August 28th, the representative of the Climate Fund Managers (CFM), Mr. Tarun Brahma, Global Investment Director, and the representative from CA Water signed a Memorandum of Understanding to invest in clean water projects in Vietnam.

On the morning of November 29, 2022, the Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) held a meeting with city departments and the consortium of Climate Fund Managers (CFM) and CA Water Company.

On the morning of June 22, 2022, the leadership of Chau Thanh District held a meeting with the investor, European Trading Company Limited from Ho Chi Minh City, regarding the implementation of the clean water supply plant investment project.

The proposal by Can Giuoc Clean Water Co., Ltd. to invest in the construction of a surface water treatment plant with a capacity of 20,000 m³/day to supply clean water for six upstream communes in Can Giuoc District is in alignment with Decision No. 686/QĐ-TTg dated June 13, 2023, issued by the Prime Minister, and Decision No. 847/QĐ-TTg dated July 14, 2023, approving the Master Plan for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Irrigation Development for the period of 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050, as well as Decision No. 2286/QĐ-UBND dated July 7, 2020, issued by the People’s Committee of Long An Province.

On the morning of April 16th (local time), an investment promotion delegation from Thái Nguyên Province, led by Mr. Phạm Hoàng Sơn, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, had a working session with Climate Fund Managers (CFM), based in the Netherlands. The delegation was received by Mr. Tarun Brahma, Global Executive Director, and Mr. Kelvin, CFM Investment Director in Vietnam.

On the morning of November 21st, 2023, Vice Chairman of the Long An Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyen Minh Lam, held a meeting with Climate Fund Managers (CFM), led by Deputy Consul General of the Netherlands, Ms. Eline van der Veen, and CA Water regarding the investment project to build a freshwater reservoir and a clean water treatment plant in Can Giuoc District.

• CFM, via its Climate Investor Two (CI2) fund, commits to invest USD 24 million in CA Water Joint Stock Company, a Vietnamese developer and operator of water treatment and distribution infrastructure. • CFM’s investment and expertise will support the development, construction and operation of two greenfield water treatment and distribution plants in Northern Vietnam. • The two plants together will deliver 25 million liters of clean drinking water a day to 150,000 people in the region.

On the afternoon of September 10th, 2024, CA Water JSC and representatives of Climate Fund Managers (CFM) had a meeting with the leadership of Thai Nguyen Province to discuss potential areas of collaboration. The meeting was attended by provincial leaders, heads of various departments, and officials from the People’s Committees of Pho Yen City and Song Cong City.
