On the morning of April 16th (local time), an investment promotion delegation from Thái Nguyên Province, led by Mr. Phạm Hoàng Sơn, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, had a working session with Climate Fund Managers (CFM), based in the Netherlands. The delegation was received by Mr. Tarun Brahma, Global Executive Director, and Mr. Kelvin, CFM Investment Director in Vietnam.
To date, CFM has invested $420 million and takes pride in contributing to sustainable environmental protection and development in Vietnam. CFM is eager to increase its investments, particularly in climate change adaptation. For an industrially developing locality like Thai Nguyen, CFM is keen to engage in clean water supply projects, water resource management, and wastewater treatment, meeting the needs of both investors and residents.
Thai Nguyen's provincial leaders expressed their hope that CFM would select the province as a model location for investment in green agriculture projects, aiming to improve the living conditions of local communities.
Currently, through CFM, CA Water has signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate and invest in Phu Binh Water Supply Plant. This facility treats water from the Đào River, supplying clean water through a pipeline system with a capacity of 15.000m3 day, serving the residents of Huong Son Town, local industrial zones, and surrounding areas. In the future, the project will expand its capacity to 30.000m3/day, ensuring adequate supply for the entire Phu Binh district and neighboring regions.
Mr. Tarun Brahma, CFM's Global Executive Director, was impressed with the investment promotion activities carried out by Thai Nguyen Province in the Netherlands. He also emphasized that the Phu Binh Water Plant project is a testament to CFM's commitment and serves as a foundation for future projects in Vietnam, including those in Thai Nguyen Province.
