The proposal by Can Giuoc Clean Water Co., Ltd. to invest in the construction of a surface water treatment plant with a capacity of 20,000 m³/day to supply clean water for six upstream communes in Can Giuoc District is in alignment with Decision No. 686/QĐ-TTg dated June 13, 2023, issued by the Prime Minister, and Decision No. 847/QĐ-TTg dated July 14, 2023, approving the Master Plan for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Irrigation Development for the period of 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050, as well as Decision No. 2286/QĐ-UBND dated July 7, 2020, issued by the People’s Committee of Long An Province.
At the conference, Can Giuoc Clean Water Co., Ltd. proposed a solution to increase water storage by dredging canals and combining embankment construction to implement the Master Plan (Decision No. 686/QĐ-TTg). This would increase the water reserve by approximately 3.268 million m³, ensuring an active and stable water supply for the plant, with additional supply through the Rach Chanh pumping station when needed.
The investment in the construction of a centralized water treatment plant with a capacity of 20,000 m³/day in Long Thuong Commune, Can Giuoc District, Long An Province is considered feasible. It will contribute to ensuring a stable and proactive water supply for domestic use by 2030, with a vision to 2050, meeting the socio-economic development needs of the province. Additionally, it will facilitate the efficient management and utilization of water resources in the context of climate change.
